Ms. Samantha is one of our Pre-K teachers who has been with us since 2016. Samantha grew up in Darien, Thailand, South Korea and England. She brings the experiences and education learned in these countries to her classroom every day. This is Samantha’s eighth year of teaching Early Childhood education. Samantha received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and later went on to obtain her Early Childhood Certificate from Norwalk Community College. She is our Pre-K Program Lead Teacher, and has recently been awarded Goddard's 2020 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Samantha believes that children learn best through play and she loves planning activities in subjects that the children are interested in, to further their love of learning. Samantha looks forward to carrying out her exciting summer camp curriculum with her class!
Ms. Morghan is one of our Preschool teachers who has been with us since 2017. She has has experience with children from ages 2-16. From being a camp counselor, to teaching dance classes and preschool prep, she has had a variety of experiences with children of all different ages. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management Recreation Administration from Mitchell College in New London, CT. Ms. Morghan loves teaching all children and is passionate about making sure they have fun while learning! Throughout the time that Morghan has been at the Goddard School, she has already been selected as Teacher of the Month as well as our Preschool Program Lead Teacher. She is looking forward to the exciting summer camp themes and can't wait to help her students learn and grow throughout the summer.
Ms. Sara is one of our Preschool teachers who has been with us for a year. She first started working with children back in 2007 while attending high school. Since then, she has worked with children ages ranging from infancy up to 12 years of age. She has worked in before & after school programs, summer camps, and head teacher positions in numerous child care centers. Sara has her associates degree in Early Childhood Education and plans to continue on to obtain her Bachelors degree. Sara is very excited to start her new journey at the Goddard school and looks forward to creating relationships with the children, families, and staff!
Ms. Meryl is one of our Preschool teachers who has been with us for almost two years. She has been working in childcare since 2014. She has an A.S. in Early Childhood Education and has many years of experience in teaching young children. Meryl is currently attending Southern Connecticut State University to complete her bachelor's in psychology. She found her love for teaching while giving swim lessons to youth at the YMCAs. Meryl is looking forward to diving into her summer camp lesson plans with her students this year!
Ms. Emily is one of our Preschool teachers and has been with us for a year. She recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Secondary Education from Southern Connecticut State University and has begun classes to get her Master's in Education. Ms. Emily has loved working with children of all ages, including high school and middle school. She has been a preschool teacher for a little over five years now and will be beginning her Master’s Program this upcoming fall. She has traveled to teach and study in Spain and also comes from a Portuguese speaking home! Emily is passionate about creating a positive and fun learning atmosphere for the children. Emily is excited to start her summer at Goddard and looks forward to executing her well-thought out lesson plans!
Ms. Bridget is one of our Pre-K teachers who is recently back from maternity leave! She has been on our team for two years and has enjoyed working with children -- infancy through high school age -- for over ten years. She graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Major in Psychology, a Minor in Criminal Justice and is currently on track for her teaching certification and Masters in Education. While attending college she started teaching art to preschool and elementary aged children at an art studio, this led to her realization for her love of teaching. Upon graduation from college she started working at a local preschool and has been teaching ever since. She currently resides in Trumbull with her husband Ryan and their dog Otis. In her spare time, she enjoys baking for her family and friends and traveling. Bridget is excited to be back in the classroom and is looking forward to teaching summer camp to our Pre-K students!
